Good to have you, Jon! Honestly, starting on Substack has been the best decision I’ve made, not only in 2021, but I’d say life in general (okay, that’s a bit of a stretch, but writers tend to exaggerate). I’m excited to see where your newsletter will take you!
Glad to have you on board, Jon! Sounds like it's been a long journey for you to arrive at the land of the serials, but you made it!
I actually used Substack for my first serial fiction project - it's a fantasy meets slice-of-life series called Due North: https://ajinkyagoyal.substack.com/s/due-north. It's not a novel by any means, but it was a nice little experiment.
Oh the whole, good. I deviated from my usual writing style and format and usual genre, so it was an experiment in more ways than one. I'm glad I did it!
Welcome to the serial party on Substack! Having been doing this since July, I think there's definitely promise here, even if the current state of affairs is a bit clunky. I think there is definitely promise here for serial fiction, but only time will tell. I've been super busy the past couple of weeks and woefully behind on all my reading, but I want to jump back into your stuff and check it out, because it really feels right up my alley!
Good luck with your fiction. I'll be cheering you on!
Hopefully we will get a dedicated "Fiction" section on the Substack homepage and maybe Substack is working to recruit some big-name authors like they did in the comic space. If not, I think we can all work to build this from the ground up.
Thanks! I have that down as one, but I think I got put in Comics initially (because that's also one of my tags). Hopefully I can stay in both, but if not, I will change to Fiction.

Thanks so much Shifra! I'm really enjoying the platform so far and interacting with readers and other Substack writers.

Thanks Ajinkya and congrats on finishing your first serial! How was the experience?

We actually just did! They added Fiction as a category this week.
Oh wow, great! I didn't see it earlier because I didn't hit the Plus sign. Now to get added to the category.
In your settings you have a space for three tags. Just make sure “fiction” is one of them.
