Ah, comics. Love them, but similarly to you often feel slightly lost by their publishing complexity. I mainly read Kieron Gillen and Brian K Vaughan stuff these days. Read a lot of Spider-man in the 2000s when Straczynski was on it. Always wish I had more time and money for comics!
My earliest comics were the UK Transformers run in the 80s and early 90s (Simon Furman's work was quite a formative text for me) and the MASK comics from the mid 80s. With smatterings of Batman and Spidey.
Nice! I'm a big KG fan. I loved his run on Eternals and am looking forward to the big A.X.E Judgment Day event he is penning this summer. Need to read my backlog of Die and Once & Future issues. I've read the first several volumes of Saga a few times now and just can't get into it, but I recently checked out the entire set of Paper Girls from my library, so hopefully I will enjoy that more.
Have you read KG's Phonogram books? Weird and unusual and brilliant. Oh! And have you read his Young Avengers run? That's proper special.
I've been reading Eternals but am slightly intimidate about trying to follow a big crossover event. Hopefully they'll make it clear how it works....
DIE is great, I need to catch up on that - same with O&F.
Oh, have you read KG's Uber? That's possibly my favourite thing of his, but it's currently stuck in some sort of legal limbo that's preventing it from being finished. :( Still worth reading despite that.
I haven't but heard that they're awesome. I have the Young Avengers complete collection on my shelf and just need to make time to read it, along with his Journey into Mystery run.
I think KG will be up to the task of helping ease readers into to what is going on in the other two Marvel lines. His Immortal X-Men book is a blast so far.
I haven't read it or heard of Uber! Will have to look for that one!

One day I'll make my own comic. One day...
