After missing a month, we’re back for the ARC Worlds monthly thread. As I’ve said previously, one of the goals for ARC Worlds is to create a community of readers so it’s not just me emailing into the void every week.
Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments (hit the aptly-named Leave a Comment button) and tell everyone what you’re reading or watching, or what book first got you into fantasy.
I’d love to eventually curate an ARC Worlds recommended reading list based on your input.
It’s been a busy two months on the TV/movie front, with Moon Knight wrapping last week and Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness opening last Thursday (yes, movies open on Thursday if you pay attention).
I enjoyed Moon Knight despite some pacing issues and Oscar Isaac was phenomenal.
The less I saw about Doctor Strange the better, so I would encourage you to go see it before everyone on the Internet spoils it. But onward to Thor: Love and Thunder!
The next two years are packed with Marvel shows and TV, but one I’m particularly looking forward to is the MCU’s Fantastic Four. I read Jonathan Hickman’s run on the comic over the past two years and loved it. I’m hoping that this movie captures the family dynamic of the series while introducing some of the cool plots (eventually).
With news that director Jon Watts is stepping down from the movie and no screenwriter announced, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to tweetstorm my idea for the movie. No MCU spoilers in the below thread and a light spoiler for a plot point at the beginning of Hickman’s run. If you read to the end, let me know what you think and please share widely so I can start my new career as a Hollywood screenwriter!1
In ARC Worlds/Guild of Magic news, I have been working on the Kickstarter campaign page for Guild of Magic and it’s almost done (minus the video)! The current plan is to launch on Tuesday, July 19 and stay tuned in the next week or so for the pre-launch page and the public reveal of the Guild of Magic cover!

I’m told it’s in the Twitter Terms of Service that if you get 400K likes on a movie plot idea, you get hired to write the script.
