the real grog sounds nasty. who'd drink that? The grog in your story reminds me of something a bartender once told me was a "bar mat shot" which apparently at least one drunk person ordered. It's basically all the spillages left on the bar mat from the night - also gross.

[[AUTHOR'S NOTE]

Where my Monkey Island fans at? Note that I had to modify the actual recipe for grog because it is not an imbibable drink, and despite this being a fantasy novel, there needs to at least be a semblance of realism. Here is the actual ingredient list from the game, for those of you who are interested:

"Grog contains one or more of the following: kerosene, propylene glycol, sulphuric acid, artificial sweeteners, red dye no. 2, rum, acetone, battery acid, scumm, axle grease, and/or pepperoni"

Also, in today's chapter, you will see a number of new things.

First, it's the debut of the all-new ARC Worlds logo and header, designed by Justine Bergman. You can see it on the intro page and also at the top of each email (one of the perks of subscribing!).

Second, Justine also designed the chapter/section break you see above and a cool subheader banner that you'll see next week.

Finally, I designed the all-new diary headers that are now at the beginning of each chapter. I'm still tweaking these, but let me know what you think!
