We've reached the end of the second arc of the story! This arc was originally published as the novella Guild of Tokens: Novice. When I published Guild of Tokens in its novel-length form, I revised the beginning of this arc slightly to remove a few paragraphs of reader-refresher information, but kept everything else pretty much the same.
Another random tidbit about this chapter is that it's the first one written partially in the first person. Of course the second interlude features a portion in the first person, but that was for a very specific reason. I like writing in the first person because it's a different cadence but am not sure I could write an entire book in that POV at the moment.
