The retail release of Guild of Magic approaches and now you can officially pre-order it from most book retailers here. You can also grab it from my shop now, or read the latest chapter below.
And the other day, I received the interior file for the print version of Guild of Magic, which brings us one step closer to actual, real print books!
Here’s a sneak peek:
Fun things!
I am a movie soundtrack aficionado and perhaps my most successful social media feat to date is creating (probably) the most listened-to playlist on Spotify for Marvel movie soundtracks. Recently my wife and I started watching The White Lotus and after listening through the main title theme once, I could not get it out of my head. Now, with the advent of the intro-skipping button, I couldn’t really justify us sitting through it episode-after-episode, so instead I have been playing it non-stop at work. Incredibly, the composer of the theme, Cristobal Tapia De Veer had less than a month to come up with the theme, and then didn’t have time to rework a new theme for season 2, but still managed to put out a track that spins the original, but with a new twist. Take a listen to both below:
In addition to looping my Marvel soundtrack playlist, I prefer writing to my video game/anime theme playlist, or alternatively, the Game channel on Rainwave video game radio. Apparently, I’m not alone, as a number of studies suggest that listening to video game soundtracks boosts productivity.

Comics!
If you’re a comics reader, head to my weekly comics release post below, where I discuss the recent hubbub over comics spoilers, plus this week’s new releases!
Question of the week!
What’s your favorite TV title theme?
Love it. I loop background music on headphones while I write. I tend to use one song for each manuscript. For the one I finished editing recently I listened to the instrumental version of Eye in the Sky (words in songs draw my attention too much while writing - so I stick to instrumentals)––the current play count is 3,472. I'm sure it sounds nutty, but it works well for me. I also like video game tracks - a couple of my favorites are Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and Terraria but there are a lot of great video game soundtracks/songs.
