  Reading @stratechery's interview with @tfadell about the development of the iPod got me thinking about my mp3 player (remember those?) history. Let's take a look back at Jon's mp3 player purchases. First up, the Rio 600:

  

• I busted out my plotting chops and probably wrote the Fantastic Four MCU movie:

As far as I am aware there is no screenwriter announced for the #FantasticFour movie. With Jon Watts leaving as director this is my chance to tweet out my plot idea for the movie, get 400k likes and get hired to write the script. So here goes!

• Not satisfied with that stream of consciousness Tweetscript, I expanded my ideas into a full-length blog post: What If … I got hired to write the new MCU Fantastic Four movie?

• The Golem of Venice Beach looks to be an amazing tale with gorgeous artwork from a number of different creators. This 152-page epic about the adventures of a 400-year-old Golem spans from 16th century Europe to the horrors of World War II to modern day Venice Beach, where the Golem becomes entangled in a war between a gang and the police. The Golem of Venice Beach is both a riveting narrative and a celebration of Southern California.

• Kickstarter comic veterans Lisa and Brant Fowler are back with their first-ever jointly written book, Curiouser. Curiouser is a sequel of sorts set some time in the future starring Alice's adult son, Alec as he gets pulled into a plot to save Wonderland from a hostile takeover by a mysterious new threat!  Join, Alec, The Knave, The Mad Hatter, and more as they fight to restore Wonderland to the peace and balance that Alice managed to leave this wondrous place in when she left so many years ago.

  

This Month on ARC Worlds

• Guild of Tokens, Chapters 45-epilogue

• Guild of Magic, Chapter 11

  • Because Guild of Tokens has come to a close, I’m going to be shifting to weekly releases of Guild of Magic chapters going forward. You’ll be able to read all of the first arc in a few weeks, but I’ll be emailing out chapters from the beginning as well. New chapters will continue to be released weekly for paid subscribers.

• Guild of Tokens debrief: what I learned from serializing my book over the past 6 months.

• The first session of the ARC Worlds book club went live at the end of May. Stop by and discuss Guild of Tokens in the comment thread and also let me know if you are interested in doing a read-along/book club of a fantasy book in the future!
